UST Psychology hosts E-Olympia anew; features students’ extracurricular competence

Powered by their intellectual and strategic knack, UST Psychology students dominated the online arena as they competed in the much-anticipated return of E-Olympia held at the UST Main Building, February 20.
E-Olympia, returning for this year’s Psychology Week, is a series of online game showoffs, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Valorant, and Tetris, participated by teams of Psychology students from first to fourth-year.
With the theme, “Traversing the Stars: The 50-Year Journey Through Synergy and Harmony”, the UST Department of Psychology celebrates its golden founding anniversary with numerous events arranged to tickle the brains of its students.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
The way towards the victory became uneasy for both the freshmen and junior teams as they advanced to the finals.
After a heated set of rounds, the third-year team enjoyed two victories in a row, eventually bagging the MLBB championship.
Valorant
Only introduced this year, Valorant finalists first-year and third-year teams vie head-to-head for the title debut.
Yet still, the team of third-year students emerged victorious after laying a perfect 2-0 sweep; 13-11, 13-3, against the first-year team.
Tetris
Bringing back nostalgia to the screens of students, Tetris players build their path toward the championship title.
Climbing their way to the top, Mikaella Mariano, a junior student, secured the top spot while sophomore MJ Abutar clinched silver.
Drawn from Olympia, a physical street game organized by the UST Psychology Society, E-Olympia was established as a virtual counterpart to together test the students’ mastery of traditional and digital recreations.
