As part of the opening festivities for the Science Week, the College of Science Student Council convened a solemn Student-Teacher Testimonial Mass at the Santisimo Rosario UST Chapel on March 18, 2024 at 2 PM.

The event aimed to honor the commitment and contributions of the College of Science (CoS) community, where students and professors gathered to express gratitude and recognize the profound impact of faculty and staff in shaping the college’s academic endeavors.

Rev. Fr. Louie R. Coronel, O.P. presided over the mass where he emphasized in his homily how the CoS community continues to “testify to the light”. He highlighted that despite the doubts, fears, and challenges we may encounter in life, “we need to know that we need to see the light during the time of darkness”. Fr. Coronel also reminded everyone that another way of testifying to the light involves telling the truth.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, Ms. Bianca Iledan delivered a heartfelt testimonial on behalf of the students, expressing gratitude for the guidance and support provided by their mentors. Mr. Vitus Paul De Jesus shared his testimonials on behalf of the faculty, highlighting the impact of mentorship and student engagement.

Expressing gratitude, students and block representatives then presented tokens of appreciation to their professors. The mass culminated in a prayer of praise and thanksgiving for the students and staff of the UST College of Science, followed by a solemn blessing by Fr. Coronel, marking the end of the Science Community Mass and leaving a spirit of unity and gratitude within the academic community.
