UST Tiger Radio, the online radio broadcasting branch of TMN, grabbed the Best Streaming/Online Only Radio Station for schools with more than 10,000 students.
The social media accounts of UST Tiger Radio and UST Tiger TV won the Best Social Media Account.
Senior advertising arts student Charlene Beatrice Go won as the Best Creatives Services Director for Television, while third year marketing student Angelica Cherie Mendoza received the Best Promotions Director Award for Television. Janis Andriella Santiago, a senior communication student, secured the Best Student Station Manager for Television.
Assistant Professor Faye Abugan, adviser of TMN, received an award as the Best Faculty Advisor for Television.
Phillene Nicole Sadang, a senior psychology student from the College of Science, was one of the representatives who received the awards. Sadang was the segment producer of last year’s ROARientation and Homecoming Walk which was nominated for the Best Variety Program. On the significance of joining international events like IBS, Sadang mentioned that it was a big opportunity for TMN since they were given the chance to widen their networks. She emphasized that bagging awards from an international conference gave them an opportunity to give tribute to the university, and proved that TMN can compete internationally with other student media networks.
During the conference, TMN was given the chance to show their operations during the International Member Spotlight segment. In front of an international audience, Sadang explained the operations behind Tiger Radio. Gabriel Alvarez, a sophomore communication student, expounded on the operations of Tiger TV. Asst. Prof. Abugan shared information about the overall production and collaborations between the two branches of TMN.
Tiger Media Network is a member of the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System since 2019.
Last year, UST Tiger TV bagged four awards in the conference.
