Third year Psychology students reigned supreme in mixed volleyball and patintero in Pysch week's Olympia 2024

Psychology Society’s Olympia made a triumphant return after a five-year drought.

Psychology Juniors reigned supreme at the Olympia 2024, bagging gold and silver medals in mixed volleyball and patintero, respectively.

Juniors emerged as champions after hammering the Freshmen, 25-17, 30-14, in the Mixed Volleyball tournament at the Central Seminary court last February 22, 2024.

The Psychology Society Sports Committee implemented a race-to-30 format in the second set.

Ahead 26-12 in the second frame, the Juniors pulled away for good after igniting a 4-2 run, punctuated by a front-line kill from Jaybee Jordan, 30-14.

Back-to-back aces from Marc Terry in the opening canto allowed Juniors to gain an early upper hand, 25-17.

Juniors outscored the Freshmen in the service department, 20-4.

Terry had a game-high 12 points courtesy of three attacks and nine aces, while Jordan and Stefanie Uang had 6 and 5 markers, respectively.

Meanwhile, Seniors outpaced Juniors in Patintero to bag the gold medal. The fourth-year team consisting of Airish Castro, Rizza Chavez, Dianne Fernando, Katrina Llanza, Gabrielle Ng, and Maria Quimbao proved their agility and teamwork were a winning combination.

The first-year squad composed of Aicie Andal, Sophia Balatbat, Margareth Batucan, Eunice De Guia, Sophia Saavedra, Fil Santos, and Veatrisse Virtucio secured first place, after taking control in the Mixed Relay event against the Psychology Society Executive Board and Faculty members.
