Night Out

Words by: Karsol

What so appends

nighttime’s limelight

beneath the lands

beyond our sight;

the desert sands

would glimmer past

beneath the cone

and engine’s blast,

the scrubber’s drone

would far outlast

the chirping tone

that radio has.

I drifted out

the capsule’s mass

and save no doubt,

I saw that sphere

what brought about

that sense of fear

and awe within

that I held dear

but save my soul,

for in my dreams

that planet stole

my tears and screams.
